These terms govern your use of the Granule app. By downloading or using Granule, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of these terms
Granule ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal finance application. By installing or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Granule.
2. What Granule is, and isn't
Granule is a tool to help you record, organise, and understand your personal finances. It provides budgeting, forecasting, reporting, asset tracking, loan tracking, subscription tracking, and tax-tagging features for your own personal use.
Granule does not provide financial, investment, accounting, legal, or tax advice. Forecasts, health scores, projections, and tax reports are informational estimates generated from the data you enter, for your personal reference only. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional, and they are not certified statements or tax filings. You are responsible for verifying figures and for any decisions you make. We recommend consulting a qualified accountant or advisor before relying on any output for filing, lending, or financial decisions.
3. Your data and your responsibility
Granule stores the information you enter on your device. You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of the information you record in the app.
- Backing up your data. Your records are stored on your device, so deleting the app or losing your device may remove them. If you enable automatic backup, those backup files are kept in your device's documents folder and remain after uninstalling. Keep your own backups to protect your records.
- Keeping your device secure, since anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to view your records.
We are not able to recover data that is lost from your device, because we do not hold a copy of it.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Granule may offer optional paid features through a subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and, where applicable, managed via RevenueCat. Pricing, billing periods, and any free-trial terms are shown at the point of purchase. Payment is charged to your app store account, and subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Refunds are handled according to the policies of the relevant app store. Free-trial terms, where offered, are presented in the app and are subject to the app store's rules.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Granule only for lawful, personal purposes. You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to circumvent the app's licensing or subscription mechanisms, nor to use the app in any way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others.
6. Intellectual property
The Granule app, its name, logo, design, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with the app store terms you accepted on download. They do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
7. Disclaimers
Granule is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate, rate, or projection it displays will be accurate or current. Exchange rates and asset prices are supplied by third parties and may be delayed or imprecise.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app, including reliance on any figure, forecast, report, or reminder it provides. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app at any time. We may also revise these terms; when we do, we will update the date above and publish the current version at Terms of Use. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using Granule at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access to paid features if you breach these terms or misuse the app's licensing mechanisms.
